Potted History: Amblecote Christian Centre previously Amblecote Full Gospel Church has had a team in WMCFL on and off since the League was formed in 1979. One of their first strips was white shirts with sky pin stripes (remember them?), sky shorts and socks. The club has been run, amongst others, by Phil Raybould, Steve and Chris Straw and Roger Piper. Jadon Silva's Dad made a brief appearance as did Pete Holliday whose son now plays for W&P. The club floundered half way through the 87-88 season and folded due to injuries and lack of interest. The club was revived by Tim Culter in about 1990 for a couple of years when Tony Bashford took over for a season in 92/93. The club folded again and reappeared in the Youth Alive Central League in 1995. In 1997 Amblecote merged with Bilston Pentecostal Church and ran for about three years jointly with Derek Dudfield and Ed Walker at the helm. In the meantime Amblecote rejoined the YAC League. In 2000 Jadon Silva took the reigns and has run the club in WMCFL ever since. Ed Walker 2005.

2006 After a season of consolidation in Division Two, Amblecote were promoted in 2002 after finishing third. They have enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Competitions and fall into the 'nearly men' bracket, reaching the Cup semi final twice and frequently leading Division One, but never finishing higher than second.

In 2007 Amblecote finally won Division One after twenty-eight years of trying in a season that saw them take off like a rocket. After Christmas things started to get a little shaky, but the League Championship was finally secured with Amblecote achieving forty points from the eighteen matches they contested. The reds also made another appearance in the League Cup semi-finals but once again fell short losing out this time to Renewal Solihull one-nil.

2008 saw Amblecote as a team in transition. Clarendon ran away with the title with a second half of the season purple patch but Amblecote were in touch with second spot right up until the last day. They came unstuck against old nemesis Dynamo Kingswinford, who did the double over them and eventually came fourth behind St Mary's and St Matthew's. Amblecote were also dumped out of the Cup at the quarter final stage by rising stars Selly Oak Methodist 3-0. 2008/9 sees a new phase for Amblecote as Jadon Silva steps down as manager and four or five players move on to set up new club Champions Church, including Shawn Devonport who top scored for them in his two seasons at the club.
