Potted History : Another one of our founder member clubs from '79. Chawn are easily the most decorated club in the League's history with five League titles and four League Cup wins to their name, not to mention a Second Division title to boot. Chawn's history is indelibly linked to the late Kevin Kovacs who had a massive influence on both the club and the League as a whole. Just a quick look at the honours above suggests that Chawn's best time was back in the early nineties. Chawn achieved the double two seasons on the trot in 1991 and '92 and went onto make it a league title triple in '93. Like many clubs, Chawn's domination faded but under Kevin's leadership returned to former glories at the turn of the century, winning the League Cup in 2000 and League title in 2001. Sadly Kevin died in 2004 but the club continues to be run by his brother Neil who managed to regain the League title for a record fifth time in 2006. |
