Potted History: City Evangelical Church is six years old, we are a relatively large church based in Edgbaston which includes many students and graduates. For the past couple of years we have been able to run 'Monday Night Football'. This involves Christians and non-Christians playing together in five-a-side games. This has been made possible through the efforts of Craig Niclasen and Neil Millard. Recently we have played a number of friendly games against other church sides and decided that we were established enough to enter the West Midlands Christian Football League. This has been set up and organsied by Dan Hardy, Will Wright and Neil Millard. We look forward to participating in the league for the 2005/2006 season. Dan Hardy June 2005.

City followed up their first season by winning promotion to Division One in 2007. They led the Division for much of the year, but were overtaken towards the end by a Rowley College team on a mission. Their success this year has been largely due to the goal-scoring exploits of the McKenna brothers and Louis Quaintance who between them managed fifty-three of City's sixty-eight goals.

City Church had a mixed season in 07/08. A stuttering start to the year saw City generally getting narrowly beaten or more commonly throwing away leads to draw. There were a couple of poundings but on the whole City were a little unlucky to find themselves in the mess they were in. It took them until 23 February to win a match, which sounds bad but from this moment on, City's fortunes improved and they finished the season in eigth place in Division One. Luckily, they escaped relegation as Division One expanded to eleven teams.
