Grenfell competed in WMCFL for about five seasons from 2001-2006. If I'm right were an off-shoot from Christchurch Hornets. They spent the first few seasons struggling for a decent run of results, then they ran away with the Division Two title in 2004, winning twelve of their fourteen matches. They were promptly relegated the following year, finishing bottom of Division One, but returned a good performance in 2006.
