Potted History: Sheldon FC have been around for the past ten years or so having been a part of the Youth Alive League for a few seasons. The team during that time, was quite successful, winning the league and cup competitions during the time the league was in existence. The team then ceased to exist following the collapse of the YAC league. The Atkins brothers, who have been a part of the Sheldon team for all these years, then moved to Calvary in WMCFL for about five years and enjoyed some successful years in the team. But as the Sheldon Christian Fellowship continued to grow in number, the time came again for Sheldon FC to come into being once more joining the WMCFL in 2005/6 season. The team is a blend of youth and experience and have done extremely well to accomplish second position in their inaugural season in Division Two under the guidance of Lyndon Fisher. The team is well supported as I'm sure many others will know and experience during the coming season in which the team aim to maintain first division status.

2007: Sheldon's goal for 2007 was to retain Division One status. However, despite this target being achieved, the team were a little disappointed with their seventh spot at the end of the year as they started the season winning many of their games. Their fortunes had a turnaround after the New Year and they began to lose matches by the odd goal, whereas they were winning them by the same margin before Christmas. A three-nil home win against Amblecote kept them safe.

2008: After being written off by yours truly, Sheldon put in a good performance in 2007/8 finishing seventh in Division One and getting to the quarter-finals of the League Cup. What they are really missing is a regular goal-scorer who can knock in goals at a ratio of a goal a game. Ed Walker - June 2008
